Informations on Prague and Czech republic

Prague, in Czech called Praha is the capital City of Czech republic. Its population is about 1,3 million.

The historical core of Prague has several parts: the Castle Town (Hradčany) with Prague Castle, Little Quarter (Malá Strana), the Old Town (Staré Město), former Jewish Quarter (Josefov) and the New Town (Nové Město). All the important monuments are situated in these five historical disctricts and all of them are in a walking distance from each other.

Prague belongs to the most visited Cities in Europe. The main tourist season starts in April and ends in October. If you come in this time, please, be prepared that there will be thousends of other people exploring the City too. Prague guides are very busy during the main season and therefore I recommend to book my Prague day tours in advance.

Most of the tourists stay in Prague two ore three nights and they typically have two full days for City sightseeing.

Places to visit in Prague in 2 days are following:

  • Old Town Square with the Astronomical Clock
  • Old Jewish Cemetery and Old New Synagogue
  • Jewish Quarter (Josefov)
  • Art Nouveau Municipal Hall (Obecní dům)
  • Charles Bridge
  • Little Quarter (Mala Strana) and its gardens
  • Prague Castle with St.Vitus Cathedral and Golden Lane
  • Strahov Monastery Library
  • Loreta Baroque Sanctuary
  • Wenceslas square

These are Top 10 Things to do in Prague. All of them I can introduce to you during my private Prague day tours: Prague day tours

In case you are going to stay here more days I highly recommend you to do some day trips outside Prague. There are many interesting destinations which can be visited during one day tour in Czech republic. My favourite places are Telč, Třebíč, Litomyšl and Konopiště castle. See : Countryside trips
